On 16 and 17 June a workshop on sustainability was held at the IPC office in Brussels, Belgium. The workshop was attended by 14 posts (An Post, Australia Post, bpost, Correos y Telégrafos, CTT, Deutsche Post DHL, Posti, Le Groupe La Poste, Austrian Post, POST Luxembourg, PostNL, Posten Norge, Swiss Post and USPS).
During the first day, participants discussed the preliminary EMMS results and two specific topics: ‘Climate adaptation’ and ‘reduction opportunities in Scope 2 (electricity)’. On day two the emphasis was on the new efficiency target (reducing carbon emissions per Letter and per Parcel) and the alignment of that with ‘Science-based Target-setting’. Furthermore the transition to GRI G4 was discussed as well as communications and next steps.
The workshop also saw guest presentations from: Milan Kooijman (WWF), Edgar van der Brug (Ecofys) and Justus Koek (PricewaterhouseCoopers).
