IPC currently has a vacancy for the Head of Markets, to lead the IPC Markets team and support IPC’s strategy of stimulating postal transformation through market research, market intelligence, strategic thinking, and which reflects the increasing importance of sustainability throughout the global e-commerce supply chain.

Job specifications 


  • Leadership of the Markets team
  • Production of business-critical intelligence to support posts in defending existing letter mail business and expanding global packets and parcels business
  • Responsible for Market Insights, Cross-Border E-Commerce Shopper Survey, Domestic E-Commerce Shopper Survey, Market Intelligence, Global Postal Industry Report, Global Monitor, Carrier Intelligence Reports, Statistical Database and Knowledge Centre on Direct Marketing and e-commerce
  • Responsible for the IPC Sustainability programme for the global postal sector and leads development to ensure sustainability reporting meets stakeholder needs across the global e-commerce supply chain 
  • Identification of best practice and market opportunities for growing postal market share in the global e-commerce supply chain#
  • Influencing and persuading member senior management to engage in sharing and adopting best practice


  • Expert knowledge of global e-commerce supply chain
  • Expert knowledge of market research and strategic planning
  • Understanding of the importance of sustainability to the global e-commerce supply chain
  • Highly competent project leader, able to negotiate and find common ground and solutions from diverse stakeholder requirements
  • Ten years professional experience in the global transport and logistics sector at senior level in international market development
  • With first university degree in science or marketing and professional qualifications in Marketing and Business
  • Excellent people skills
  • Able to build relationships and network with senior management
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Team leader, able to work in an international environment that requires discretion and the ability to keep data and knowledge confidential
  • Results orientated, pro-active, challenging, and inspiring
  • As English is the working language of IPC, an excellent standard of both spoken and written English is required
