Our Markets team is looking for a Market Research Manager, are you our new colleague?

Mission

As Market Research Manager, your mission is to

  • support IPC’s 2025 strategy of stimulating postal transformation through market research and strategic thinking;
  • help members to adapt to rapidly changing consumer needs through reinforced market intelligence and consumer surveys in the field of e-commerce through a focus on packets and parcels while still supporting letter mail;
  • benefit from increasing Asian e-commerce by reinforcing links with Asian posts
  • strengthen the postal share in e-commerce with a focus on Asia in addition to the IPC membership.

Within the Commercial Department, you will hierarchically report to the Head of Markets and functionally to the CFO/CCO.
You will manage 1 person.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the annual IPC Cross-Border E-Commerce Shopper Survey which involves quantitative market research in over 30 markets using an online consumer panel in each market to explore consumer preferences and delivery experiences of cross-border e-commerce.
  • Manage the annual IPC Domestic E-Commerce Shopper Survey which involves quantitative market research in over 15 markets using an online consumer panel in each market to explore consumer preferences and delivery experiences of domestic e-commerce.
  • Analyse the results of the IPC Shopper Surveys to compare consumer behaviour in different markets to identify trends and differences. Prepare and write reports and presentations on the results of the survey by region and by market.
  • Present the survey findings at internal and external events. 
  • Manage diverse range of market intelligence projects relating to global e-commerce development in Asia-Pacific, Europe, North and South America. 
  • Manage Market Insights project for research experts from the IPC membership to share and discuss e-commerce market intelligence and to identify and develop research solutions and product development proposals to meet identified market needs. 
  • Research, analyse and report on key developments regarding the global supply chain including first, middle and last mile for leading global online e-retailers and delivery competitors, and analyse the implications and opportunities for IPC members.

Profile

  • Knowledge and experience
    • University graduate, preferably with a degree in science, engineering, or mathematics.
    • Market Research professional with 5-7 years’ experience in in quantitative and qualitative analytical marketing intelligence with advanced skills in data mining, statistical analysis, and project management.
    • Strong knowledge of the international transport and delivery sector, ideally with experience in e-commerce / Highly numerate, strong MS Excel, SPSS and PowerPoint skills required / Highly analytical problem solver, able to identify trends and actions from complex data from multiple channels.
  • Skills and attitude
    • Tenacious researcher who pays attention to detail but does not lose sight of the wider picture and the objectives of the analysis. 
    • Able to build relationships and network with senior management from the members.
    • Strong written and oral presentation skills.
    • As English is the working language of IPC, a high standard of both spoken and written English is required, other European languages a plus. 
    • Team player, able to work in an international environment that requires discretion and the ability to keep data and knowledge confidential.
    • Excellent knowledge of project management techniques.
    • Essential: Results orientated, pro-active, team player, able to work and actively contribute to a team environment.
    • Desirable: Logistics and supply chain experience / Market Research agency experience.
